To say we here at Denali like The North Face Ventrix Jacket is an understatement. We love the Ventrix Jacket. I like mine so much I just bought a second one because I wanted one with a hood and one without. So, what makes the Ventrix so special? Well, it works when you do. If you like to get at outdoor activities when the mercury drops, then this is the jacket for you. Our staff has worn their Ventrix Jackets cross country skiing, trail running, mountain biking, and snowshoeing. Even when we aren’t doing our outdoor pursuits you can find us wearing them for everyday activities. In fact, I’m wearing one of mine now (maybe I should turn the heat up).
It’s seldom you can find a nice insulated jacket that you can do so many activities in. The North Face Ventrix Jacket stands apart from others with its dynamic venting. There are micro vents inside the insulation that open and close to regulate your body temperate as you move. The vents open up to let hot air out but then close back up so that the cold air doesn’t get in. To help even more with ventilation there are also small perforations under the armpit and inside along the upper back.
My body heats up quickly when I am hiking or snowshoeing in the mountains. With a backpack on my core gets so hot that I have a hard time wearing jackets even when it is 0 degrees. In turn, my arms get cold. Now, with my Ventrix, I can keep it on longer than any other jacket I’ve owned without feeling like I am overheating. Over New Year’s weekend, when I was snowshoeing Mt. Willard it was the perfect outer layer with – 30-degree wind chills. It kept me warm enough and does a good job with the 20mph wind. Later on, when we went to hang out with the skiers at Bretton Woods I threw my down jacket over it and it became a nice mid layer.
Don’t just take my word for it. Sean says, “Anyone that knows me knows that I sweat a lot, but when I’m outside in my Ventrix the dynamic venting helps me cool off without getting cold. It’s really fantastic, and the jacket looks really cool too.”
Another aspect of the Ventrix Jacket that makes it so great for cold weather outdoor activities is how stretchy it is. At no point did I feel that my range of motion was restricted which is key if you want to do activities like rock climbing and mountain biking. The Ventrix Jacket is water resistant so it will shed off the snow and light rain.
From Danielle, “My Ventrix jacket is hands down my favorite jacket. It’s lightweight but keeps me warm, and is nice and stretchy. It’s the perfect piece to wear when I’m going for a hike, walking my dog, or even underneath another jacket for added warmth. Definitely a great 3 season option!”
This jacket’s a must have for cold-weather aerobic activity. With the Ventrix Jacket, you won’t have to constantly stop to shed or add layers. It really does let you work harder, farther, faster, and longer in the cold, and there’s plenty to love about it. I’m definitely bringing this jacket on my next trip up to New Hampshire, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else the Ventrix and I can accomplish together.
