The first time I wore my new Campshire Vest from The North Face, it was a damp, chilly, and overcast October day. My friends and I had gone off to the middle of the woods to spend the night. Temperatures varied, ranging from the mid 50s to the low 30s, and I layered the vest over an old flannel shirt. Was I the coziest person at the campsite? You bet I was.
The Campshire Vest’s high-pile, 300-weight Sherpa fleece wraps you in luxuriously fluffy comfort. More importantly, the fleece retains warmth well, trapping heat in its heavy fibers. The Campshire’s so cozy in fact that I’m not at all embarrassed to admit that I’ve spent time nuzzling the fabric. It’s just that soft.
The vest’s somewhat boxier standard fit accommodates a range of body-types. I’m on the slightly heavier side of a men’s large, and the vest doesn’t feel restricting at all. The vest weighs in at less than a pound too, and you won’t feel overburdened when you wear it. The secure-zip hand pockets are another big bonus. There’s plenty of space for my stuff and my hands.
If I had to bottom line it, I would absolutely recommend the Campshire Vest to all my friends. In New England we know a thing or two about wearing vests. The Campshire Vest is easily the coziest vest that I own, and believe me when I tell you that I own a lot of vests.
What other staff has to say about the Campshire Vest:
Nakitta – This is comfy and cozy, yet very versatile! You can wear it with a fall dress or tunic and dress it up, or you can wear it over a long sleeve and still feel like you’re wearing your pajamas. I am very happy with this addition to my fall wardrobe.
Sarah – This vest is amazing! I have it in the maroon color, and it goes with just about everything in my wardrobe. I enjoy the balance between functional and fashionable and this piece is just that! Not to mention, every time I wear it, I receive a compliment! 10/10
Kathy – Great fit, beautiful color and super cozy. It feels like you’re wearing a fluffy blanket. I’ve worn in both inside as a layer over a flannel and outside as an insulating layer. The collar looks great both open and fully zipped.
Abbey – The Campshire Vest is a perfect companion for autumn. This cozy vest can be worn as an insulating layer on fall hikes, yet easily transitions to casual outfits, and complements sweater dresses or flannels particularly well. I wear this most often when I want plush, comfortable warmth during chilly walks–or in my chilly house!
Dillon – The North Face vest is probably the softest fleece I’ve ever felt. I found it to run a bit large and can see myself wearing this inside during the cold winter months. I also like the vintage look of the logo.
Bonnie – This vest is a super warm layering piece. I have worn it a few times over baselayers and under a shell while working outside and it added the extra warmth I was seeking. This vest also looks cute layered over a long sleeve tee and jeans for a more casual look. This vest is versatile – it’s cute but also functional. For sizing reference, I’m a broad-shouldered 5’5” 117lbs and a small fits loosely.
Gaby – I love the fleece vest. Soooo soft and their color palette is wonderful.
Tyina – This vest is everyone’s favorite piece here at Trumbull, super warm and cozy.
