Day 5: Arches National Park
(This is part 5 in a 9 part series. Click here to start at Day 1.)
We arrived at Arches National Park early in the morning to give us all day to enjoy the sites. Early on we chose not to hike to Devil’s Garden trail because the trail length would have taken too much time and we wanted a break from hiking a strenuous loop.
Throughout the day we hiked numerous shorter trails in all the different sections of the park viewing a vast majority of the available arches.
Later in the day we hiked the trail called ‘Park Ave’ that cuts through a canyon of sheer sandstone walls.
At about an hour before sunset we decided to take out our folding camping chairs and sit along the park road near the Petrified Dunes and watch the sun set on the La Sal Mountains in the distance. This is another extraordinary National Park that offers awesome scenery in multiple locations in a park of vast acreage.Continue to Day 6 here.
