Stanley Classic One Hand Vacuum Mug
I’ll admit it, I’m not much of a coffee drinker. Come winter though, I dive into the hot chocolate, especially for hikes. My winter hiking often takes me to the White Mountains in New Hampshire with temperatures well below freezing. My safety on these hikes relies on being able to keep liquids from freezing. Hydration is very important and boy does it feel good to swig some hot chocolate when you reach the summit of a mountain. For that reason I depend on Stanley.
I like to say Stanley is one of my favorite men. He is reliable and dependable. Stanley has been around since 1913 and continues to make top notch products. One of my favorites is the Classic One Hand Vacuum Mug. Fill the vacuum insulated mug up, put the top on, and you’re good to go. When you want to take a sip all you have to do is press the button on the lid and drink. No unscrewing anything, no mess, no fuss. This is especially nice when it is 5 degrees and you want to quickly get hot liquids into you. You don’t have to take off your gloves or heavy mittens to drink.
The Classic One Hand Vacuum Mug is also leak-proof. I know this first hand as mine has been dropped out of the side pocket of my bag when I was fixing my snowshoes. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I can keep my mug on the outside of my backpack, on a 20 degree day, and still have warm hot chocolate three hours later. All this while also putting the mug down into some fresh powder to really test the insulation.
But truthfully, the thing that really makes Stanley special is that the tops come apart for cleaning and are dishwasher safe. I especially like this when my wife forgets to clean hers and has a few days old coffee in it. This is also nice when one day you want to use it to keep some wine cold for a trip and the next you need coffee. No left over tastes from other beverages.
Rugged and cleans up well, Stanley truly is the man!
