Foodie Friday: Prime 16
Now in two locations, on the Boston Post Road in Orange and its original home on Temple Street in New Haven, Prime 16 is one of my favorite Burgers and Beer Bar in the area. It’s hard to stray away from their burgers, especially since they have so many delicious combinations to choose from, but their entire menu from beer battered jalapenos served with five cheese fondue, to their spicy twist to the classic Caesar salad is to die for. Their beer list also has a wide range of quality craft beers to chose from, and their draft list for the day can always be found on their website. But seriously, let’s talk burgers. Prime 16 ranges their burgers all over the board, with beef, bison, lamb, turkey, and salmon patties to choose from. It’s absolutely the meat lover’s dream. I also have on good authority that their mushroom and pecan veggie burger is one of the best veggie burgers around for you anti-meat sorts. On my last trip to burger heaven I got their Cajun Patty Melt. It’s a blackened beef patty topped with melted pepper jack cheese, smoked applewood bacon, tobacco fried onions and chipotle mayo on grilled multigrain bread. Burger grilled cheese? Whoever decided patty melts should be a thing, I thank you. So delicious!
